His technical experience covers physics, biophysics, chemistry, materials science, analog and digital electronics, electro-optics, machine vision, semiconductor products, data processing systems, machine learning and a number of medical technologies. His patent applications also cover the fields of nanotechnology, imaging systems, software systems, optics and radio frequency communications. Fred's growing areas of patent practice include protecting innovations in the market of diverse software applications for portable devices and artificial intelligence.
In his transactional practice, Fred reviews, prepares and negotiates commercial agreements, including agreements on resellers and value-added representative offices. It also drafts agreements on the provision of technical consulting services, research and development, technology transfer and licensing. When clients disclose confidential information to potential partners, customers and contractors, appropriate conditions are provided to ensure confidentiality and an assessment is made of whether preliminary patent applications should be submitted in advance. Before founding Accel IP Law with his partners, Fred was a shareholder in an intellectual property law practice in Orlando for more than fifteen years.
In his corporate practice, Fred worked as a licensing consultant, patent attorney, litigation manager. Fred has also served as a commercial transaction lawyer for several general managers. He was responsible for several international business units, several international manufacturing operations and global procurement in three Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience in developing intellectual property programs, protecting patent rights, negotiating and resolving issues related to violations.
Before starting his legal career, Fred was interested in biophysics. He also held senior positions in the U.S. Department of the Navy and the U.S. Department of Transportation. He worked as a materials engineer, researcher and head of environmental research programs.
