Tom Gacio is a shareholder/partner of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk. Tom is a senior trial attorney who has a long career dealing with civil injury litigation throughout the state of Florida. He has successfully conducted numerous civil jury trials as far south as Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as far north as Tallahassee, Florida, as well as on the East and West Coast of Florida.

The judges with whom he had worked before, and his fellow lawyers who opposed him, recognized Tom as having reached the highest level of professional skill. He is twice certified by the Florida Bar Association as an expert in civil litigation and the National Council for Judicial Advocacy. He settled numerous seven-figure settlements on behalf of his clients and was named a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Lawyers Forum.

Tom began his legal career as an assistant state's attorney in Polk County, Florida. Having conducted more than 50 trials without a jury and jurors, he continued his judicial experience, representing insurance companies such as Allstate, State Farm, Car Owners, USAA, Nationwide, GEICO & Scottsdale insurance company. His experience representing the interests of large insurance companies has taught him how to resist the strategies of insurance companies to devalue claims. For the past ten years, he has represented the interests of exclusively affected clients.

Tom was certified by the Florida Bar Association in Civil Litigation on his first attempt. Only 1-2% of lawyers in Florida are board-certified. Certification involves a rigorous peer review process in which the lawyers you practice with and the judges you practice before are called upon to evaluate your courtroom skills and knowledge. Candidates are also asked to support their application by indicating their experience and test results, and then they must pass an exhaustive written exam.
