Abeyta continued his education at the California Western School of Law, from which he graduated in 2009. Abeyta joined the Abeyta Nelson Injury Act in March 2010. He is a partner in a law firm.

Abeyta is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington State Justice Association (WSAJ) and the American Justice Association. He is on the Board of Governors of the Washington State Justice Association. In 2014, he was awarded the WSAJ Award for New Lawyer “Ready to Take Off". In 2016, 2017 and again in 2018, Super Lawyers magazine named Abeyta a Rising Star — an award given to only 2.5% of Washington State lawyers under the age of 40 or practicing for less than 10 years. Abeyta is actively involved in community life and is on the board of directors of the Yakima Valley Community Foundation. Abeyta was the co-chair of the Pillars of a Single Path campaign and was also named Campaign Volunteer of the Year. Abeyta is married to Chelsea Irwin-Abeyta and they have three children: Beauchene, Penelope and Margot.
