Jonathan Litster is a trial lawyer who defends the interests of individuals both in and out of the courtroom. Jonathan represents plaintiffs in a wide range of civil litigation, including serious personal injury, insurance fraud and professional negligence. Prior to joining Burg Simpson, Jonathan worked for several personal injury law firms, helping plaintiffs get what they deserve. Jonathan served as a forensic expert for the Honorable Chief Judge of the United States District Court David K. Naya, where he oversaw all stages of the trial. Prior to moving to Arizona, Jonathan worked as a deputy Ada County Prosecutor in Boise, Idaho. Jonathan is licensed to practice law in Idaho and Arizona.
Jonathan Litster graduated from Brigham Young University, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in commercial music. Having learned Spanish as a child, Jonathan lived in Taiwan for two years and also learned to speak Mandarin Chinese. Jonathan received his juris doctor degree from the University of Idaho College of Law. While studying at law school, Jonathan served as a forensic expert for the Honorable Judge Joel D. Horton on the Idaho Supreme Court and oversaw the intricacies of appellate work. In addition to the list of elected deans, Jonathan was selected by faculty to represent the University of Idaho College of Law in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Peggy Browning Foundation Employee Rights Conference. Jonathan enrolled at the University of Idaho's Family Justice Clinic, helping victims of domestic and sexual violence. Jonathan interned at the James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research and was introduced to the Idaho Governor's Salmon Working Group.
When Jonathan Litster is not practicing law, he spends time with his wife Stephanie and their three children. He can often be found singing tenor in millennial East Valley choirs and orchestras, hiking, listening to audiobooks and podcasts and composing music.
