In his wide-ranging career, first as Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting lengthy and serious criminal cases in the District of Columbia and thereafter in private practice, Roger has been involved in some of the most significant civil and criminal cases in the country over almost five decades.

Rogers practice covers an unusually broad range of civil and criminal matters. He represents companies as well as corporate officers and directors in major civil and criminal disputes, including fraud and securities matters, international business transactions, customs and immigration disputes and investigations, attorney and accounting regulatory matters, healthcare investigations, commercial and transactional disputes and matters involving forfeiture and related items. When called upon, Roger has also successfully defended several significant homicide cases.

Among his particular representations, Roger has represented some of the senior-most executives in three of the largest fraud cases of the past two decades: senior executives at Enron, Refco (the worlds largest futures brokerage), and the Stanford International Bank. He has represented senior business executives located outside the United States, including those residing in Europe and South America. He has represented some of the countrys most significant lawyers and law firms in a variety of disputes. And he has represented some of the countrys foremost animal protection organizations.

Roger has appeared in numerous trials around the country, some lengthy (the longest being nine months). He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, where he tried numerous cases to juries and served as the deputy and acting chief of the Appellate Section. He was a principal prosecutor in two of the longest conspiracy prosecutions (at that time) brought in the District of Columbia, winning convictions in both (in the aggregate against almost 50 defendants). In recognition of his work in these cases, the Department of Justice awarded him the Assistant U.S. Attorneys Award for Distinguished Performance.
