Trevor Wilson is a partner in the Tax Practice Group. Hisexpansive tax practice includes federal income taxation, tax-exemptorganizations, executive compensation, estate planning, and the administrationof successions. A member of the firms federal and international, mergers andacquisitions and private equity, employee benefits, and trusts and estatesteams, Trevor focuses his federal income tax practice on advising clients onstructuring their US and international business activities to minimize federalincome taxation in the ordinary course of business operations and upon a saleor merger of the business. In addition, he advises clients on their federal taxreporting and withholding obligations on payments to employees, vendors, andindependent contractors. As part of his formation practice, Trevor focuses onadvising clients on the choice of entity to conduct business operations, aswell as counseling clients on regulatory restrictions and non-taxconsiderations affecting the structure and operations of a business. In histax-exempt organizations practice, Trevor advises clients on forming non-profitorganizations and obtaining recognition of tax-exempt status of the non-profitorganization from the IRS. In addition, he advises tax-exempt organizations onstructuring their activities to avoid unrelated business taxable income andmaintain their tax-exempt status. Trevor advises his executive compensationclients on structuring compensation arrangements with their executives and keyemployees. In particular, he advises clients on structuring compensationarrangements to comply with Section 409A and correcting compensationarrangements that violate Section 409A. Trevors estate planning practicefocuses on advising clients on succession plans for their personal finances aswell as their businesses. He advises clients as to the preparation of wills,financial and medical powers of attorney, medical directives, and trusts. Inaddition, he advises clients on structuring buy-sell arrangements to allow forthe efficient succession of their businesses. With regards to theadministration of successions, Trevor focuses on advising clients on theadministration of their loved one's estate, including their rights asexecutors, heirs, or legatees.
