Eric routinely advises individuals and families on a wide range of estate planning topics, including comprehensive estate plans, childrens trust planning, estate and income tax minimization strategies, and complex trust planning. Eric holds a masters degree in taxation which allows him to also guide his clients in implementing advanced tax planning strategies such as generation-skipping transfer trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, estate tax exemption and tax basis step-up planning, life insurance trusts and grantor retained annuity trusts. Eric has been recognized by the legal community for his work in the estate planning field, and his articles on estate planning topics have been featured in publications such as the Puget Sound Business Journal, WSBA Real Property Probate Trust Newsletter, and the King County Bar Bulletin.

Eric handles the probate of wills and the administration of trusts at death. He helps his clients identify and notify the appropriate heirs, inventory and appraise the estate assets, gather and navigate the creditor claims notification process, and file the appropriate estate tax returns. As part of this process Eric guides his clients through their legal duties and obligations as a personal representative or trustee.

In addition, Eric assists clients in navigating the process of forming a business entity in Washington State, with special focus on issues such as choice of entity, ownership structure, buy/sell agreements, and business tax planning. Eric has assisted business owners in creating a number of businesses ranging from tax preparation services to software app development companies.

Finally, Eric is also involved in community service and community development. Prior to attending law school, Eric spent a year living in Mexico while volunteering for the community building non-profit organization Esperanza International.
