Michael Lazarus advises domestic and international clients in the telecommunications industry on transactional and regulatory matters and represents them before the Federal Communications Commission (the FCC) and state and local regulatory bodies. He represents mobile and fixed service providers of broadband and narrowband services delivered over landline and cable networks, terrestrial wireless systems, satellites and the Internet. His experience includes: FCC regulations applicable to wireless providers, wireline carriers, cable telephone providers and broadcasters, major telecommunications acquisitions involving antitrust implications before the FCC and the Department of Justice, and participating in distant signal copyright royalty proceedings.
Mr. Lazarus handles a wide range of legal matters for telecommunications companies, including general counseling on federal regulatory issues, regulatory policy advocacy at the FCC and on Capitol Hill, spectrum auction advice, communications-related litigation before the FCC, federal courts, state courts and state public utility commissions, international telecommunications ventures, and a wide range of other transactions including mergers and acquisitions, equipment contracts, debt and equity placements, intercarrier arrangements and interconnection agreements. Prior to joining Telecommunications Law Professionals, Mr. Lazarus was an associate at Crowell Moring LLP from 2002 until 2006 and Paul Hastings LLP from 2006 until summer 2011.
