Founding Partner of Pircher, Nichols Meeks in 1983, prior to that time, Senior Partner of Lawler, Felix Hall in Los Angeles, Since 1970, I have limited my practice to commercial real estate and related tax issues, prior to that time, my practice was primarily tax and corporate (and in particular M A and securities transactions). My real estate practice is national and has involved some of the largest transactions in the U.S. since 1970. The focus of my real estate practice is the acquisition, structuring, financing and sale of large commercial properties and portfolios of commercial properties, including office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, industrial properties and apartment complexes. I have been involved for many years in legal education, particularly dealing with business laws subjects. I am a co-founder and director of the Berkeley Center for Law, Business and Economics, which is a co-venture of the Law School and Business School at Berkeley which conducts research and education on law, business and economic issues and advises business leaders and government agencies. In 2014, UC Berkeley awarded me the Trustee's Citation Award for service to the University.
