Michelle West is a trial lawyer. Michelle spent her first eight years in practice trying over 100 bench and jury trials throughout Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley for two of the nations largest auto and homeowners insurance companies.

Bringing her talents to complex commercial litigation in the construction law and suretyship space, Michelle litigates throughout the state and federal courts of the D.C. Metro area. She helps clients resolve contract disputes, including delay claims and bonding issues, advising them in dispute resolution ahead of litigation. Recognized as a Best Lawyers Ones to Watch and a Super Lawyers Rising Star, however, Michelle is at her best when advocating in a courtroom.

Before her law career, Michelle spent five years as a language and writing instructor and editor in the D.C., area. A teachers spirit is at the core of her trial practice and her mentoring efforts where she leads trial and deposition skills seminars, judges national trial advocacy competitions, and speaks regularly to area youth regarding their legal rights and careers in the law.
