Richard served as national counsel for one of the nation'smost prestigious professional firms on the brink of financial collapse. He ledthe legal team to develop and implement a complex, long-term strategy thatincluded negotiation and nationwide litigation with several major groups ofcreditors that resulted in the restructuring of the firm's debt.

For over 30 years, Richard served on the national trialteams for several defendants in asbestos personal injury litigation. He craftedand supervised the implementation of anew approach in defense of tens of thousands of cases on behalf of asignificant defendant that enabled the defendant to settle the cases. Richard was appointed bythe court as co-liaison counsel for all defendants and headed up therepresentation of two large corporate defendants for more than a decade.

Richard has been selected by judges to assist in theresolution of numerous high profile matters. Richard has also served as acourt-appointed Special Referee, as an arbitrator and as a private andcourt-appointed mediator in major business disputes.
