Jeffrey T. "Jeff" Cox - Lawyer in Dayton, OH

Jeff Cox represents clients in a wide array of business and commercial litigation matters, including contract and business torts, technology, privacy and data security, products liability cases, class actions, and professional malpractice claims. Now in his 31st year of practice, Jeff has handled and continues to represent clients in complex disputes in courts across the United States, in matters before the American Arbitration Association, and in investigations by the Federal Trade Commission, the Departments of Justice, and other federal agencies, and various state Attorneys General. Jeff is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and several other federal circuit courts of appeals.

A repeat «Best Lawyers in America» honoree for commercial litigation, Jeff is also recognized as a Benchmark «Local Litigation Star,» an «Ohio Super Lawyer (Business Litigation)» and is rated «AV Preeminent» by Martindale Hubbell. A Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a Life Fellow of the Foundations of the Federal, American, Ohio and Dayton Bar Associations, Jeff is a past president of the Dayton FBA chapter, the Dayton Lawyers Club, and the Carl Kessler Inn of Court.

Jeff is Chair of Miami Valley Public Media, Inc., the parent of WYSO, the National Public Radio affiliate for west central Ohio, he is the long-time moderator of the Greater Dayton Bench Bar Media Forum, and has written for numerous publications on professional ethics and complex litigation topics. Jeff serves as General Counsel for Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School, and previously served as Chair of CJ's Board of Trustees. A graduate of Leadership Dayton, Jeff served four years on City Council for Oakwood, Ohio.

Jeff served several years as a member of the Board of Advisors for Miami University's Pre-Law Program. As a law student, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Dayton Law Review. Prior to commencing his legal career, Jeff worked in Washington, D.C., first with U.S. Senators Robert Packwood (R-OR) and Richard Lugar (R-IN), and later as Deputy Director of Government Relations for the National Society of Professional Engineers.
