About the lawyer
Alice is an associate in the firms Tax Business Planning Group. Alices practice focuses on a broad range of federal and international tax issues. She advises publicly traded and private companies including real estate investment trusts (REITs) on business formations, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, loan agreements, and public and private debt/equity offerings. In addition, she represents individual and corporate clients in structuring business and tax solutions to meet their personalized needs. Alice has also practiced in the Firms commercial Real Estate Group.
Prior to joining Barack Ferrazzano, she was a legal intern at a publicly traded international technology services corporation where she handled intellectual property matters, assisted in the development of a corporate security takeover defense manual, and advised the Board in challenged director decisions. Prior to attending law school, she created and taught an AP English curriculum to urban youth and led a college readiness seminar team for Teach for America. In addition, as a Yale-China fellow, she interned at the United Nations Children's Fund in Beijing, China, where she researched, analyzed, and presented international models of child protection and related laws to leaders of the HIV/AIDS, Protection and Policy departments to assist in establishing a child welfare system.
During the summer of 2014, Alice was a Public Interest Law Initiative graduate fellow at The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights and was sponsored by the Firm. She continues to represent asylum seekers in her pro bono work.
