John M. Toriello - Lawyer in New York, NY

John M. Toriello is a partner in the Litigation PracticeGroup of Holland Knight's New York City office and co-chairs the firm'sInsurance Industry Team. Mr. Toriello has extensive experience in jury andnonjury trials, appeals to both federal and state appellate courts, andinternational arbitrations of contract disputes. He has led the representationof financial institutions and obligors in connection with the enforcement ofloan and other obligations, the pursuit of fraud and fraudulent conveyanceclaims, the defense of lender-liability claims and insurance-coverage disputes.He has significant experience in disputes related to asset and trade financing.He has represented clients in a wide range of insurance disputes, includingreinsurance disputes, prosecution of fiduciary duty and fraud claims, coverageclaims, and broker/intermediary errors-and- omissions claims. He has significantexperience in connection with marine, aviation, satellite, commercial, CGL andbusiness interruption insurance policies. His general commercial backgroundincludes contract and product liability matters involving heavy industrialequipment, manufacturing plants, aircraft, vessels, and satellites, and he hasacted for sellers and manufacturers of sporting equipment, appliances and foodproducts. He has also directed judgment-enforcement litigations andarbitrations. A substantial amount of his practice relates to internationaltransactions.

Mr. Toriello has delivered papers at meetings for various professionalorganizations on topics including Asbestos Litigation, Piercing the CorporateVeil, Environmental Risks Faced by Lenders Under United States Law andResolution of International Insurance Disputes. He has written several articlesfor the New York Law Journal and Reactions.
