Jim Harvey is a partner in Vandeventer Blacks Norfolk office with a wide range of experience in construction, surety, government contracts, land use, defective products, professional liability and business disputes. He is active in and regularly presents seminars or articles for trade organizations such as Associated General Contractors and the Builders Contractors Exchange. Jim is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Tidewater Aquatic Club, one of the largest youth competitive swimming clubs in the area.

He served in active duty as a U.S. Army Officer from 1989 to 1993 and in the Virginia National Guard from 1994-1996. Jim is a recovering Ironman triathlete who occasionally plays golf when not at work or with his family.
