Imrans real estate and finance transactional practice focuses on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial financing, resort and commercial projects (including condominium development), commercial leasing, and other real estate matters.
Prior to joining Cades Schutte, Imran practiced at two other firms in Honolulu. He externed for the Honorable Alan C. Kay of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. Before obtaining his law degree, Imran was a vice president at a large San Francisco-based bank, where he focused on the corporate/commercial banking sector.
Imran is active in the American Bar Association and the Hawaii State Bar Association and has spoken locally and nationally on real estate topics. He is the Vice Chair of the Ground Leasing Committee for the American Bar Associations Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, and is Secretary of the Board for the Real Property and Financial Services Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association. In 2019, Imran was selected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Imran received his B.A. in European History and Sociology from Washington and Lee University and earned his law degree from Tulane Law School, where he was awarded the Charles Kohlmeyer, Jr., Award for the Outstanding Graduate in Maritime Law and earned the CALI Award in Commercial Real Estate. He served as Senior Notes Comments Editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and won awards for Best Case Note and Best Comment.
