Rebecca is a member of the Estate Planning Practice Team where she helps clients to identify their estate planning goals and create customized plans to meet their needs. Rebecca's practice includes all aspects of estate planning and administration, including preparing all estate plans from simple to sophisticated, tax planning, charitable gift planning, special needs planning, cottage planning, prenuptial agreements, and trust and estate administration services.
Rebecca is active in the estate planning community serving as a member of the adjunct faculty at Wayne State University Law School where she teaches Trusts Decedents' Estates, a member of the Probate Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and as a contributor to the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Within the firm, she serves on the Diversity Committee. Rebecca has been recognized for her contributions to the legal and wider communities by Michigan Lawyers Weekly, Super Lawyers, and the National Law Review.
A significant portion of Rebecca's practice involves crafting Trusts for animal companions (pet trusts), and she frequently speaks and writes on this topic for community groups, law students, and other lawyers. Experienced in the nonprofit sector as chairperson of the board of directors of Barn Sanctuary and vice president of the board of directors of Attorneys for Animals, she also assists animal-related charities with qualifying for and maintaining tax-exempt status and was named to Crain's list of Notable Women in Nonprofits in 2018.
