Karen L. Keyes is a graduate of George Mason University (JD 1990) and the College of Charleston (BS in psychology, magna cum laude, 1984).

Ms. Keyes is a licensed attorney in Virginia and Certified as an Advanced Family Law Mediator by the Virginia Supreme Court. She has been in private practice as a family law attorney and mediator since 1991 and has attended several Collaborative Process trainings. She served as a Commissioner in Chancery and Substitute Judge in the Juvenile Domestic Relations Court for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia.

Ms. Keyes has her own practice in Arlington, Virginia. She handles a broad spectrum of family law issues in the role of mediator or attorney. Having taught Alternative Dispute Resolution as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason School of Law, she is a frequent lecturer to civilian, military, and professional organizations, on issues relating to family law, collaborative process and mediation.

Ms. Keyes has Chaired the Virginia Collaborative Professionals, the Virginia Alternative Dispute Resolution Joint Committee, the Arlington Bar Family Law Section, and the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
