Robert J. Hauser grew up in Miami, Florida, and now resides in Palm Beach County, Florida. He handles a variety of litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels for his clients throughout Florida. In addition to appellate matters in virtually any area of substantive law, his trial practice includes business litigation and trust, estate, and probate disputes. Mr. Hauser has been certified as a specialist in appellate practice by The Florida Bar since 2009.
After graduating from Duke University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in public policy studies, Mr. Hauser attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He was awarded his Juris Doctor with High Honors in 1995. After law school, he spent a year as a judicial law clerk at the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. He then joined a West Palm Beach boutique litigation firm, where he was a shareholder for 17 years until joining Pankauski Hauser (now Pankauski Hauser Lazarus PLLC) in 2014.
In addition to Florida state courts, Mr. Hauser is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Hauser has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 «Superb» peer review rating through Avvo. In 2019, Mr. Hauser was selected to appear in the 26th edition of The Best Lawyers in America, for his work in the field of Appellate Practice.
Mr. Hauser is a member of a variety of legal organizations, including the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar, and the Fourth District Court of Appeal Historical Society. Notably, Mr. Hauser served for six years on the Appellate Practice Certification Committee of The Florida Bar, including one-year terms as Chair and Vice-Chair. Before that, Mr. Hauser served a three-year term on the Appellate Courts Rules Committee.
