Nikole L. Canute - Lawyer in Grand Rapids, MI

Nikole L. Canutes areas of practice include: labor and employment law, employment litigation, energy litigation, civil litigation, fraud investigation and litigation and securities litigation. She is very skilled in handling employment investigations, electronic discovery and matters involving computer forensic investigations. Nikole also specializes in energy matters, including condemnation. Her experience includes working with local municipal authorities and law enforcement during pre-condemnation activities, condemning property and/or obtaining pre-condemnation access to properties for survey purposes and handling administrative agency proceedings. Nikole currently serves on the firms Management Committee and Diversity Committee, and is the Vice Chair of its Labor and Employment Practice Group.

Nikole is very involved in the Grand Rapids community. She was recently elected to the Board of Directors for Boys Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, a non-profit that assists young people in reaching their full potential as responsible citizens through education, recreation and positive community experiences in partnership with the Grand Rapids Police Department. Additionally, for several years, she has been involved in the planning of the annual Women Lawyers v. Judges Softball Game, which raises funds each year for the YWCA of West Central Michigan, and is currently chairing the event planning committee. In past years, Nikole has been an officer of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and spent several years on the Board of Directors for the WLAM, Western Region, which selected her as its 2013 Outstanding Member of the Year. In addition, she was selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a member of the Class of 2018 «Women in the Law» and as a 2013 «Up Coming Lawyer.» Nikole was also selected for inclusion in the Grand Rapids Magazine's 2019 Top Lawyers and included in the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Stars for employment law.
