Amy J. Tawney is a partner in the Charleston office of Bowles Rice and a member of the firms Commercial and Financial Services Practice Group and the Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Tawney focuses her practice on banking and mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Tawney earned her bachelor of science degree in political science and accounting from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1996. She received her law degree in 1999 from the West Virginia University College of Law, where she was Third Issue Editor of the West Virginia Law Review and vice-president of the Lugar Trial Association. She was also Order of the Coif, recipient of the Patrick Duffy Koontz Scholarship and a member of the Lugar traveling team.
