In 2005, Leslie became the Assistant DistrictAttorney at the District Attorneys Office for the 18th JudicialDistrict. Leslie selected and presentedcases to the district and county grand juries. She served as the District Attorneys representative on the CommunityCorrections Board, and with the Mental Health Court and Drug Court. Leslie hastestified before the state legislature on matters relating to sentencing lawsand juvenile law and has spoken to community groups about all aspects ofcriminal law.

Private Practice: In 1992,Leslie left the Denver prosecutors office and was a partner in the law firm,Chambers, Dansky Hansen, P.C. Leslieand her partners developed a litigation firm that specialized in family law, criminaldefense, and employment law. She workedwith families as a guardian ad litem for children whose parents were divorcingand was regularly appointed to this position by Denver judges with whom she hadworked as a prosecutor. She representeddomestic violence victims and grandparents seeking custody of theirgrandchildren. In 2000, Leslie startedher own firm, Leslie Hansen, PC. and continued to focus exclusively on familylaw. Leslie continued her advocacy on behalf of children and families andhandled all types of domestic relations cases. In late 2012, Leslie left public service andreturned to private practice, again specializing in family law and types ofdomestic cases. Leslies background as a prosecutor withextensive litigation experience gives her a unique perspective on family lawcases.
