Jake assists clients in navigating federal and state tax laws to put them in the best position to both mitigate exposure and risk. As part of his comprehensive tax counsel, Jake advises clients on how to effectively structure their businesses, navigate day-to-day transactions that arise in the ordinary course of business, and select a tax-efficient exit or combination strategy. Jake also has significant experience working with clients in the real estate space to effectively structure qualified opportunity funds and in matters involving Section 1031 exchanges and Section 1033 involuntary conversions. When clients find themselves in the crosshairs of the Internal Revenue Service, Jake is a vigorous advocate to resolve tax disputes in an efficient manner.

Prior to joining Moye White, Jake worked in the Denver office of a Big Four national accounting firm as a state and local tax associate and served as a law clerk to Judge Elizabeth Crewson Paris of the U.S Tax Court in Washington D.C.

In his spare time, Jake enjoys spending time in the mountains, golfing, cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers, and relaxing at home with his puppy, Archibald, and fiancé.
