Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Heisterpracticed law in Washington, DC, for three years as a trial attorney with theUnited States Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Divisionand for six years with an international law firm. While at the Department ofJustice, Mr. Heister defended federal environmental actions in a variety ofjurisdictions at the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Heisters experience inprivate practice also included trial and appellate work in environmentalenforcement actions along with complex land use disputes and work on hydraulicfracturing and oil and gas regulations.

Mr. Heister is a magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University and received hisJ. D. from the University of Arkansas, summacum laude. Following graduation fromlaw school, Mr. Heister served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard S.Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
