Shealso represents clients in the financial services industry, including lenders,REITs, trustees, real estate developers, mortgage servicers, debt collectors,and debt settlement negotiators, in disputes involving state breach ofcontract, wrongful foreclosure, lender liability, and consumer protection law, aswell as federal laws such as TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, and FDCPA. Kaytie workshand-in-hand with the firms bankruptcy lawyers to represent financial servicesclients in bankruptcy adversary proceedings and has successfully compelledarbitration in such cases. Before joining Jones Walker, Kaytie served as a lawclerk to the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale of the US Court of Appeals for theFifth Circuit. She has since developed a significant appellate practice and hasrepresented clients as parties and amici curiae before theMississippi Court of Appeals, the Mississippi Supreme Court, and the Court ofAppeals for the Second and Fifth circuits. Kayties appellate work has beendescribed as succinct, intelligible and persuasive by the scholar in residenceof a national publication.
