James N. "Jimmy" Walter Jr. - Lawyer in Montgomery, AL

Jimmy Walter obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and his law degree from the University of Alabama. In law school, Jimmy was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Alabama Law Review, was a Hugo L. Black Scholar and graduated Order of the Coif. Upon graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Truman M. Hobbs, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Alabama.

He has over 30 years experience in all types of civil litigation in state and federal courts. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including business and consumer fraud, accounting, antitrust, banking, class action, contracts, construction, government, insurance, products liability and real estate litigation.

Jimmy has extensive dispute resolution experience. He is registered on the Alabama State Court Arbitrator and Mediator Rosters and has been a member of the American Arbitration Association Roster of Neutrals since 2014. Jimmy has represented contractors, owners, businesses, consumers, and financial advisors in arbitrations. He has also served as a private and court-appointed mediator for business and consumer disputes.

Jimmy and other firm members are currently representing the Alabama Medicaid Agency in its transition to providing healthcare and long-tern care services through capitated payments to local Regional Care Organizations (RCOs) and Integrated Care Networks (ICNs).

Jimmy is the co-chair of the Litigation Section of the firm. He has served as a Bar Examiner of the Alabama State Bar and is heavily involved in numerous professional, church and civic organizations, including the Church of the Ascension and the Montgomery YMCA Endowment Foundation.
