Andrew Weber, former Texas First Assistant Attorney General to Attorney General, now Texas Governor Greg Abbott, is a partner at Kelly Hart Hallman LLP. Mr. Weber chairs the firms Public Law Practice, assisting all other practice groups whose clients need help navigating the intersection of law, policy and politics at the Legislature and before State agencies.

When Governor Abbott, then Texas Attorney General, promoted Mr. Weber to First Assistant in 2008, he explained An outstanding lawyer and experienced manager, Andrew Weber is uniquely qualified to serve as First Assistant Attorney General. Andrew is a legal scholar who brings a wealth of public service and private sector expertise to his new leadership role. After more than a year as the Deputy Attorney General for Legal Counsel and seven years at the Texas Supreme Court, including four years as the high courts chief administrator, Andrew is well prepared to help lead the Office of the Attorney General.

Kelly Hart welcomed Mr. Weber back to the firm in 2010 to create and chair the firms Public Law practice group.

Mr. Weber received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from SMU in Dallas. He graduated, magna cum laude, from Baylor Law School, where he served as the Symposium Editor of the Baylor Law Review and a member of the Order of the Barristers. In addition to his service at the Office of Attorney General, Mr. Weber has served as Briefing Attorney to then-Justice Greg Abbott, Staff Attorney to then-Justice Priscilla Owen, and Clerk of the Texas Supreme Court.
