Mr. Barclay is licensed to practice in Virginiaand is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the Portsmouth BarAssociation, and the Suffolk Bar Association. He was a former member of theSuffolk City Council and represented the Sleepy Hole Borough. He has alsoserved as Vice Chairman of the Virginia Port Authority, Chairman of thePortsmouth Planning Commission, Representative for the 3rd Judicial Circuit onthe Virginia State Bar Council, President of the Virginia Real Estate AttorneysLeague and as an Area Representative for the Real Property Section of theVirginia State Bar. He has provided continuing legal education lectures onvarious real estate related topics for the Virginia Law Foundation and othergroups. He was the past Chairman of the Board of the Economic Development of theCity of Suffolk. He has been selected by Virginia Business Magazine forinclusion on its list of Super Lawyers in Virginia. Mr. Barclay attends St.Johns Episcopal Church in Portsmouth and is active in many civic, business andcommunity groups. His wife Bonnie is a nurse practitioner and they have twochildren: Cole and Hugh.
