Joe McCarthy combines a deep understanding of real estate, partnership and tax law with over thirty years experience on complex projects to offer intelligent, practical advice to his clients. Joe is a trusted advisor on the development, financing and operations of affordable, condominium, mixed-use, multi-family, ownership, planned community projects. He provides counsel and advocacy relating to acquisition, construction, diligence, joint ventures, leasing, management, operations, partnerships and project finance.

Joe has assisted in the development and financing of approximately 10,000 units of affordable rental and ownership housing involving community land trusts, historic tax credits, HOME funds, HUD loans, low income housing tax credits, property tax exemptions, Section 8 rental assistance, state and local funding, and tax-exempt bonds.

Joe has extensive experience creating, developing and selling condominiums and planned communities. His experience includes community planning and structuring, preparing community association documents, complying with state and federal sales regulations, and creating marketing, sale and warranty programs. Joe has been intimately involved in the drafting of condominium and warranty legislation in the State of Washington in the last decade and chaired the committee that drafted the 2018 Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act.
