About the lawyer
Inspired by her grandfather, a labor lawyer in Michigan, Jackie Damm decided in law school that labor law was her true calling. Today, she represents both public and private sector employers in collective bargaining negotiations, National Labor Relations Board proceedings, Employment Relations Board proceedings, and labor arbitrations.
Jackie believes in the power of prevention and has gained a reputation for helping clients avoid potential pitfalls. She advises clients on labor contract administration, grievances, union avoidance, strike preparation, personnel policies and procedures, and union organizing campaigns.
Jackie is a quick study and a great listener, skills that have served her? and her clients? well. Clients know they can depend on her to effectively assess and analyze situations and provide timely advice that leads to the right resolution. Jackie especially enjoys working with management bargaining teams, helping them find the most effective and strategic deal. She counsels clients in a wide range of industries, and helps them focus on maintaining maximum management flexibility during collective bargaining.
Jackies proudest accomplishment is saving Blue, an old horse used for lessons at the barn where she rode outside of Chicago. One day Blue mysteriously disappeared and everyone knew he was headed for the meat market. She acted quickly and struck a deal that kept Blue alive and happy as a pasture buddy horse, which is how he spent the remainder of his 35 years.
Jackie is still passionate about horses. She and her equine partner, Finnegan, compete in combined training events around the Northwest. Jackie and her husband, John, are kept plenty busy with their horses, dogs, cats, goats, and chickens.
