About the lawyer
Mr. Wyche is one of the founding attorneys of Ogletree Deakins, practicing with the firm since its inception. He provides advice on employment matters, litigation, arbitration, discrimination claims, and traditional labor or NLRA matters.Mr. Wyche began his practice in Georgia in 1972. One of his early cases involved the defense of the jury selection process of a Georgia county against claims that it was racially discriminatory. He successfully argued the case before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1974 and the Supreme Court denied certiorari on his brief. Coming to Greenville in 1976, he was one of the defense attorneys in the Back Pay Specification of the Darlington case. His experience also consists of advising J.P. Stevens Co., Inc. during their conflict with the TWUA and ACTWU, including unfair labor practice cases, campaigns at various facilities, and negotiating bargaining agreements at multiple locations. He has handled numerous discrimination cases, as well as litigated claims arising under ERISA. His broad experience provides an understanding of business issues to advise employers on risk analysis, strategic planning and litigation avoidance.A member of the International Committee of the Section on Labor and Employment of the ABA, he has advised companies from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Japan and elsewhere, on doing business in and compliance with the laws of the United States. He has assisted domestic companies with their needs in the international arena. He has met with the Department of Commerce in the United States Embassy abroad regarding employment issues of companies.Elected to the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, he is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America, South Carolina Super Lawyers, Whos Who in American Law and Whos Who in Emerging Leaders. Mr. Wyche graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Business Administration. He was Co-Editor of Labor and Employment Law for South Carolina Lawyers, published in 1999 and 2007 by the South Carolina Bar Association.
