Allan Muir's labor and employment practice focuses on advice and counsel to employers, labor union negotiations, workers' compensation defense, and administrative proceedings before the Maine Bureau of Insurance. Since coming to Pierce Atwood in 1993, Allan has maintained an active workers' compensation defense practice, while adding workers' compensation expertise to matters involving reasonable accommodations, leave, insurance, and loss control. He represents Maine's largest workers' compensation insurer before the Maine Bureau of Insurance. He also represents employers in discrimination matters before the Maine Workers' Compensation Board and Maine Human Rights Commission.

Allan also maintains an active and long-standing practice advising and assisting hospital clients in union labor contract negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, and charges files with the National Labor Relations Board.
