On the appropriations front, Mr. Gold leads the firm's Federal AppropriationsTeam which has been successful in achieving federal funding for a wide varietyof projects including research on biotechnology, energy and related fields,clean up and redevelopment of brownfields, road and transit projects, andstormwater and drinking water projects. He has worked for corporations toachieve policy changes, corporate competitive advantage and research funds inthe annual budget process. Mr. Gold and the Holland Knight Federal Budget Appropriations Team have secured billions of dollars and exceptionalpolicy results over the last decade for clients.

Mr. Gold has achieved success in a broad range of legislation ranging fromClimate Change, Clean Air Act, Superfund, brownfields and Water ResourceDevelopment Act issues in the environmental arena to chemical security, outercontinental shelf exploration, and transit and transportation authorizations.His environmental and energy expertise have him heavily involved in the currentdebate over climate change in Congress working on new technologies related tocarbon capture and sequestration as well as the elements of cap and tradepolicy.

On the administrative front, Mr. Gold has worked with Fortune 500companies and trade associations, small businesses and local governments onregulatory matters before the United States Environmental Protection Agency(EPA), the United States Department of the Interior, the UnitedStates Department of Agriculture, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, theU.S. Department of Energy, and the White House. Most recently, Mr. Gold hasworked on federal legislation as well as regulations providing for the securityof chemical facilities by the Department of Homeland Security. His experience atEPA with Clean Air Act rulemakings encompasses all of the agency's recent ruleson gasoline and diesel as well as its various rules regulating emissions ofvolatile organic compounds from paints and coatings. Finally, he has negotiatedtwo voluntary programs on chemical testing on behalf of the chemical industrywith EPA and various non-governmental organizations.

As a board member of The Bryce Harlow Foundation, Mr. Gold serves to educateyoung people on the importance of professional advocacy and increase theunderstanding of its essential role in the development of sound publicpolicy.

In recognition of Mr. Gold's energy and environmental policy expertise, hewas appointed to the Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology of theNational Academy of Sciences in 2009 and served until 2012.

Mr. Gold is a founder of a coalition of nonprofit groups and lobbyists,including Taxpayers for Common Sense, Citizens Against Government Waste andformer Congressman Jim Walsh (R-NY), that work on reforms to the appropriationsand earmarking processes.
