James J. Richards has practiced family law inMassachusetts for over 22 years. His practice is focused on handlingcomplex domestic relations matters from inception through trial andappeal. Following a judicial clerkship in the Massachusetts Probate andFamily Court, Mr. Richards entered private practice and earned partnerships intwo prominent Massachusetts firms. Although his practice has been primarly based in the Probate and Family Courts, he handled and tired complex cases in the Superior and DistrictCourts and argued cases in the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Mr. Richards started his firm in 2019 focused exclusively onfamily law. Mr. Richards has served as an adjunct professor at the lawschool and college levels and a panelist on continuing legal educationprograms. He has also published in the area of family law. Mr. Richards was appointed to the Probate and Family Court's JointCommittee on Rules in 2005, of which he is still a member, the 2018 ChildSupport Guidelines Task Force, and several other Probate and Family Courtcommittees.
