Bob Hannon assists clients in a variety of commercial finance, commercial real estate, corporate and commercial law matters. Bob's primary focus is representing lenders in all types of commercial loan transactions including syndications, participations, real estate development and construction loans, real estate acquisition loans, asset-based loans, healthcare loans, loans to nonprofit institutions, mezzanine finance and municipal finance, along with workouts of any of the foregoing. Bob also represents borrowers in connection with any of the foregoing and additionally has extensive experience with loan sales and purchases. Finally, Bob assists lenders with corporate and regulatory matters and has experience with bank formations and mergers and acquisitions. Representative clients include Avenue Bank, CapStar Bank, Fifth Third Bank, First Bank, First Tennessee Bank National Association, Regions Bank, and ServisFirst Bank.
Prior to joining the firm, Bob practiced at the law firm of Stites Harbison PLLC. Before attending law school, he was an elementary school teacher with the Washington, D.C. public school system through Teach for America. Bob has served on the following boards: (i) McNeilly Center for Children, Middle Tennessee's largest early childhood education provider with multiple sites in East Nashville, in the capacities of Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Chair of its annual fundraising event, and (ii) Belcourt Theatre, a nonprofit theatre located in Hillsboro Village, in the capacities of Membership Committee Chair and Education Committee Chair. Bob currently serves on the board of Valor Collegiate Academies, a 5-12 charter school located in South Nashville, in the capacity of Secretary and Governance Committee Chair. Bob was very involved with the recruitment of Valors school leader Todd Dickson from Summit Prep located in Redwood City, California and is developing an expertise in public charter school law.
