He is also skilled to assist with mergers and acquisitions, compliance plans, HIPAA, physician contracts, stark and anti-kickback analysis and certificate of need and licensing issues.
On the corporate side, his estate planning practice includes the preparation of tax sensitive wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable family trusts, charitable trusts and family limited partnerships. He handles complex corporate transactions, as well as the general representation of business entities. Mr. Hudson represents businesses before the Internal Revenue Service, the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue, the West Virginia Office of Tax Appeals and the United States Tax Court.
Active in many professional organizations, Mr. Hudson is an active member of the American Bar Association, Health Law Section and Property and Probate Section, American Health Lawyers Association, the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, of which he is a past president, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Association of Attorneys-Certified Public Accountants, the West Virginia Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, and the Wood County Bar Association. He is also active in the Mid-Ohio Valley Estate Planning Council, the St. Thomas More Catholic Lawyers Society and the West Virginia Tax Institute.
He received his bachelor of arts degree, summa cum laude, from Bethany College, and earned his law degree from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.
