Jan Yarborough is a partner with the law firm of WallBabcock LLP. She has a concentration inhealth law, particularly in the area of managed care issues. Prior to joining Wall Babcock, Yarboroughworked as a solo practitioner in Chapel Hill and continues to work from herChapel Hill office.

Prior to establishing her own practice in 2002, Jan was apartner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP in Winston-Salem. Earlier in her career, she was director oflegal affairs at PHP, Inc. and an attorney at Brooks Pierce McLendon Humphreyand Leonard in Greensboro. She alsoserved as an adjunct health law professor at the Wake Forest University Schoolof Law and was a clinical faculty member of the School of Nursing at Rowan TechnicalCommunity College.

A native of Western North Carolina, Jan received a J.D.degree magna cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1987 and aB.S. degree magna cum laude in nursing from the University of North Carolina atGreensboro in 1980.

A frequent writer on topics related to health law, sheserved as chair of the North Carolina Bar Associations Health Law Section from1994 to 1995. In addition, she has beena faculty member for numerous health subjects for continuing education, amember of the North Carolina Society of Health Care Attorneys and is a formermember of the advisory committee for the University of North Carolina atGreensboro School of Nursing. She isincluded in The Best Lawyers in America and is currently a member of the WakeForest University School of Law Board of Visitors.
