JAMES B. HADDOW was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on June 25, 1959. He is admitted to practice in Maine, the United States District Court for the District of Maine, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
He is the author of The Evolution of the Maine Law of Attachment on Ordinary and Trustee Process, 7 Me. Bar Journal 2 (1992), and Legal Issues in Prenatal Diagnosis in the U.S., Prenatal Diagnosis, The Human Side, 2d ed. 2003, Abramsky and Chapple.
Mr. Haddow served on the Mad Horse Theatre Company Board of Trustees (Trustee, 1989-1994, President, 1992-1994) and on the Cumberland County Law Library Committee from 1990 through 1994. In 1995, Mr. Haddow was elected to the Planning Board for the Town of Limington, Maine, and served as the Board's vice-chair in 1996 and its chair in 1997. Mr. Haddow also served from 2007 — 2012 as President of the Board of Directors for Maine Boys to Men, an innovative youth services and violence prevention organization based in Portland, Maine. He also served from 2000 — 2006 as a member of the University of Maine School of Law Alumni Association's Board of Directors, including terms as Vice President and Chair of the Annual Fund (2002-2003) and President (2003-2004). Mr. Haddow was selected to serve as a volunteer neutral for the Androscoggin County Superior Court in the Maine Court System's 1995-1997 experimental ADR program.
He is a member of the Cumberland County, Maine State, and American Bar Associations, and of the American Association for Justice.
