Girard R. "Jerry" Visconti - Lawyer in Providence, RI

Jerry Visconti graduated from Providence College (B.A. 1965 andSuffolk University Law School (J.D. 1968).

He practices in all areas oflitigation and business law with particular emphasis on construction consultingand litigation, business litigation, arbitration and mediation, and matters attrial and appellate levels, including employment, construction, mechanicsliens, suretyships, and commercial litigation. Jerry brings over 50 years oflegal experience to the firm.

He is admitted practice in Rhode Island andMassachusetts, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Districts ofRhode Island and Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuitand the U.S. Supreme Court.

As one of the leading experts in construction law in the state,Jerry has been instrumental in the drafting and passage of the Mechanics' Lienstatute and other laws pertaining to the construction industry. He is also thelegal counsel for the Rhode Island Subcontractors Association (RISA).

Mr.Visconti represents owners, developers, general contractors, constructionmanagers, subcontractors and suppliers, and frequently acts as aMediator and/or Arbitrator for business and construction related matters.Jerry has been both a member and chair of theJudicial Nominating Committee, is President Emeritus of the WhitmarshCorporation, and has received numerous awards for his achievements in both thelegal community and the private sector. Jerry is also a member of the RhodeIsland Labor Law and Employment Bar Committee. Jerry very much enjoys cookingand has self-published a cookbook of his favorite recipes.
