Robert N. "Bob" Crouse - Lawyer in Raleigh, NC

Over his 20 year legal career, Bob has been responsible for the management of patent matters for a wide range of clients including one of the worlds leading semiconductor and consumer electronics manufacturers. Bob focuses primarily on patent protection in the areas of semiconductors, biomedical devices, LED lighting, and energy systems. He is also experienced in due diligence analyses, counseling clients in the acquisition of third party patents, and negotiating disputes over patent license agreements. He has helped numerous clients develop a robust patent portfolio, a number of the patents Bob has drafted and prosecuted have been successfully litigated and licensed.

Prior to his legal career, Bob worked for 12 years as a senior design engineer in the development of products in the areas of solid state memory systems for mini-computers, error-detection and correction circuits, and medical imaging hardware for Digital Equipment Corp. and Polaroid Medical Imaging Systems.

Bob is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Bar and U.S. Supreme Court Bar. He is a past chair of the Intellectual Property (IP) Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Bob received the NC Bar Association IP Section 2010 Pro Bono award for representation of veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He has been listed as one of Americas Leading Lawyers for Business by Chambers USA from 2012 through 2019.
