Johnconcentrates in transactional work, including bank and other financing. Givenhis length of experience in this market, he often is retained in situationswhere the financing structures are out of the ordinary and successfullycompleting the transactions requires a non-standard approach. He has served asthe lead attorney in multilender financings representing both borrowers andbank syndicates. He has represented developers in construction and permanentmortgage financings, including transactions that have generated various taxcredits as part of a financing package. He has played a number of roles invarious types of asset-backed securitizations. In addition to his continuingpractice, he served as the firm's president and CEO of Hodgson Russ from February1, 2012 through January 31, 2016.

Johnreceived his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from Harvard University. Forseveral years, John taught a graduate-level business law class at theUniversity at Buffalo School of Management.
