William C. "Bill" Cole - Lawyer in Boise, ID

Bill's practice focuses on business and financial transactions, with anemphasis in commercial lending, securities, securitization, structuredfinance, business mergers, acquisitions and strategic ventures, realestate, entity formation, contracts, credit recovery, legal opinions,and other general business planning matters. Bill began his legal career in San Diego as acommercial litigator at Baker McKenzie, a prestigiousinternational law firm. Bill moved to Boise in 1993 for «quality oflife» reasons when he joined a prominent Idaho law firm and continuedhis commercial litigation practice.

For seven years prior tojoining Givens Pursley as a partner, Bill was in-house General Counseland Vice President for AMRESCO Commercial Finance, Inc., a Boise basedcommercial finance company that funded, securitized, and serviced, over1.8 billion dollars in complex commercial finance transactions. AsGeneral Counsel, Bill was responsible for all of the legal affairs ofthe company, a responsibility that he accomplished through closingtransactions and resolving legal issues on a direct, hands-on basis, aswell as through managing a department of in-house attorneys andattorneys at law firms throughout the country.

Bill was alsoextensively involved in the business aspects of the company. Thisbusiness experience, combined with Bill's experience in managing legalcounsel, has provided him with a unique, practical perspective of thelegal needs facing business clients and what they expect of theirattorneys.
