Yarbro graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude fromWellesley College and earned her law degree at the University of Virginia.

Outside the office, Yarbro was nominated by the Mayor andappointed by the Metro Council to the Greenways and Open SpacesCommission. Previously, she served onthe Community Corrections Advisory Board for nine years. She also serves on the YWCA AdvocacyCommittee and on the board of directors for the foundation supporting the HumanTrafficking Survivors Court. She is also very involved in the life of ChristChurch Cathedral. She recently completeda three-year term on the parish vestry and is currently serving as Chair of theStrategic Plan Implementation Committee.
