Jonathan is a civil litigator who specializes in the defense of medical malpractice claims on behalf of individual doctors, nurses, hospitals, and provider practice groups. He has successfully represented medical professionals at trial, in mediation, and in medical malpractice screening panel hearings. In addition to litigated disputes, he represents and counsels doctors, nurses, and social workers in connection with investigations by state licensing agencies and in disputes with institutions over privileges and credentials.

Jonathan has been recognized for 5+ years as a New England SuperLawyer in medical malpractice defense, and by Best Lawyers as a health care lawyer. He has obtained defense verdicts for an anesthesiologist in a case in which the plaintiff alleged an episode of anesthesia awareness, an Ob/Gyn in a case in which the plaintiff alleged improper post-surgical wound closure led to an infection, and a hospital and CT-tech in which the plaintiff alleged improper dye administration led to an extravasation injury and compartment syndrome.

Jonathan was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended college at Brown University, where he majored in Public Policy and American Institutions. He returned to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan Law School. He graduated cum laude from the U of M Law School in 2.5 years. He worked for Kirkpatrick Lockhart (now Kirkpatrick, Luce Gates) in the Boston Office for 3 years before moving to New Hampshire to raise his kids and to be closer to opportunities to uphill hike, downhill ski, and fly fish in both fresh and saltwater.

Jonathan is active locally in the arts. He served on the Board and was the Vice President of the Granite State Music Festival and is currently on the Board of Red River Theatres, an independent cinema in Concord, NH. He also remains passionate about Michigan athletics and is on the Board of the University of Michigan Club of New Hampshire.
