Chad V. Theriot is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group anda member of the firms board of directors. He focuses on major public andcommercial construction and infrastructure projects. Chad advises domestic andinternational clients across a broad spectrum of construction, contracting, andprocurement activities. He represents owners, commercial and governmentcontractors, major subcontractors, and original equipment manufacturers inconstruction litigation and construction claims avoidance. Chad serves asco-chair of the firms construction practice team. Chad currently representsUS, UK, Austrian, German, South African, and Saudi Arabian companies spanningthe globe in the energy, construction, aviation, defense, and shipping sectors.He currently has disputes before the ICC and the LCIA involving internationaldisputes. He also currently represents domestic clients before the AAA andvarious state and federal courts. Chad has successfully litigated more than$2.5 billion in disputes. His typical range of projects includes representingowners and contractors in the construction and design of energy projects,airports, military bases, power plants, environmental and closure projects,cogeneration plants, oil refineries, hospitals, high-rises, off-shore platforms,hotels, resorts, and a variety of other commercial and industrial constructionprojects. He also has extensive experience in the aircraft, locomotive, andshipbuilding industries. Before joining Jones Walker, Chad practiced in theAtlanta office of an Am Law 100 firm, where he was a partner on theconstruction and infrastructure team. Prior to law school, Chad worked as aclaims consultant on commercial and government contracts involving projectschedule delivery, strategic planning, schedule risks, inefficiency claims, anddelay analyses. His work included the preparation and review of claims fordelay, disruption, acceleration, and quantifying interruption impacts.
