Jeff Lawrence is a member of the firm and chairs its Transportation and Logistics Practice Group. Jeff joined Cozen O'Connor in 2010. Prior to joining Cozen OConnor, Jeff was a founding and senior partner at Sher Blackwell LLP in Washington, D.C. He focuses his practice on U.S. and international corporate, commercial, financing and joint venture activity, transportation regulation, and antitrust/competition regulation.

Jeff represents U.S. and foreign companies and associations engaged in the maritime, intermodal transportation and offshore energy industries. Aside from corporate and transactional work, he regularly represents clients before federal agencies in Washington, D.C., as well as before foreign governments and international organizations. His work includes establishing national and international transportation joint ventures, financing of offshore drilling and transportation equipment, representing clients in investigations by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Department of Justice, Department of the Treasury, and the Federal Maritime Commission, and advising clients on federal transportation regulatory requirements, transnational competition law requirements for international horizontal undertakings amongst competitors, and trade association activities and governance.

Considered a leader in the industry, Jeff has spoken on antitrust, transportation regulation, and transport liability issues before professional and industry associations in the United States and abroad. He has been recognized by Chambers and Partners for shipping regulatory expertise.

Jeff is a former president of the Maritime Administrative Bar Association. He also acts as executive director and general counsel of the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA), which deals with inland and equipment issues in the United States and oversees a system of co-op pools with more than 130,000 intermodal vehicles. He has also served as a president, officer and board member of a number of nonprofit organizations in the Washington, D.C., area.

Jeff received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his J.D. from Rutgers University Law School.
